A special thank you to the teachers, librarians, and students at Gleneagles Elementary School for providing me with such a warm welcome at my recent book reading there.

What a pleasure to read ‘NO MORE CATS and RUFUS the RAC to dozens of inquisitive children who listened carefully during the reading, then actively participated in the follow-up question/answer period.

How impressive that so many exceptional questions were asked about the subject matter! I enjoyed the learning ambience of this school, a school that embraces the importance of saving the environment and protecting the critters of the world.

Book readings at Southside Elementary School

Author Darlene Welton was warmly received by 650 students during her latest book tour in Sarasota, Florida. This would not have been possible without the tremendous support of the principal and staff by co-ordinating such a multifaceted event.

Darlene found this visit to be one of her all-time reading highlights as the children were keen participants and sincerely interested in the preservation of wildlife and the environment. Children shared thought provoking stories and ideas, and some were already budding authors. It was an exciting day for both author and children alike.

Rosedale Public School Reading

I recently had the pleasure of reading my latest publication “The Bunny Hullabaloo” for the children of Rosedale Public School. It is a true story about a baby rabbit who was lost, found, and went on a great adventure with Mrs. Brown before being released back to the wild.
