Book readings at Southside Elementary School

Author Darlene Welton was warmly received by 650 students during her latest book tour in Sarasota, Florida. This would not have been possible without the tremendous support of the principal and staff by co-ordinating such a multifaceted event.

Darlene found this visit to be one of her all-time reading highlights as the children were keen participants and sincerely interested in the preservation of wildlife and the environment. Children shared thought provoking stories and ideas, and some were already budding authors. It was an exciting day for both author and children alike.

Book Reading with Hazel

My daughter Hazel is loving your books and we read The Dinohumes and Peaches the Piglet every night. In Dinohumes, her favourite part is when Auggie’s dad has to get on a ladder to measure him. “Auggie TALL!”. And in Peaches, her favourite part is when Boomer and Peaches sit by the water together.

Rosedale Public School Reading

I recently had the pleasure of reading my latest publication “The Bunny Hullabaloo” for the children of Rosedale Public School. It is a true story about a baby rabbit who was lost, found, and went on a great adventure with Mrs. Brown before being released back to the wild.
